The following is from the OPP, Leeds Detachment:
Leeds County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P) arrested two men over the weekend.
On the 23rd of December at around 6:15 p.m. Leeds County O.P.P were conducting a R.I.D.E program on County Rd 5 in Front of Yonge Township. Upon checking a pickup truck, the driver, Ronald Jacques, 43 years old, of Front of Yonge Township was charged with Operate Motor Vehicle with No Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
On the 23rd of December at around 2:30 p.m. Leeds County O.P.P were conducting a R.I.D.E program On County Rd 2 in Front of Yonge Township when they stopped a red Dodge Pickup Truck. The male driver of the pickup truck, William Henry Gilbert, 58 years old of Gananoque, ON was subsequently arrested and has been charged for Possession of a Schedule II Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act, Impaired Driving by Drug, and Possession of a Weapon for dangerous purpose, contrary to the Criminal Code. He will appear in Brockville Ontario Court of Justice on the 27th of January 2017.
On the 25th of December 2016 an O.P.P. officer patrolling Highway 401 in Front of Leeds and Lansdowne Township, observed a vehicle committing an offence under the Highway Traffic Act and stopped the car. An investigation was completed and the driver of the car, Brian Watson 32 years old of Flamborough Township was arrested and charged for Drive Disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code.
