Part of Carleton Place & District Hospital remain closed due to Norovirus outbreak

cp-hosp-02-300x300According to the Carleton Place and District Hospital’s website, part of their inpatient unit remains closed due Norovirus outbreak.

The hospital says they are working with Public Health to contain and resolve this outbreak.

They are encouraging those who wish to visit patients on the inpatient unit to reconsider, as there is a risk of getting sick. They also say that if you are already ill, please do not visit as Norovirus is highly contagious.

Symptoms of Norovirus include: diarrhea, nausea and vomiting with or without: stomach pain/cramps, mild fever or head or muscle ache.

Symptoms can last from 24 to 60 hours.

People in need of emergency care should still come to the Emergency Department.
