Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement due to pending rain, and water that’s already in and on the ground.
The federal forecaster says rain is expected to spread across southern Ontario from west to east tonight and taper off tomorrow.
Although rainfall amounts are not expected to be overly significant, the ground has a reduced ability to absorb it because of the rain we have gotten and the snow that’s melted.
General rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 millimetres are likely, though isolated spots may see higher amounts, especially in areas that receive thunderstorms.
Caution is advised near creeks and ponding of water may occur in some areas as well.
We will keep you up to date as further warnings and advisories are issued.
