The Mississippi-Rideau Source Protection Committee has a new Chair.
The Ontario Minister of Environment and Climate Change has appointed Ken Graham to take on this important role under Ontario’s Clean Water Act.
The Source Protection Committee represents multiple stakeholders and oversees the drinking water source protection program locally.
Graham brings broad experience with him relating to environmental protection and many years of service to his community in a variety of capacities, most notably as a Smiths Falls Town Councillor for two decades, and 11 years on the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority Board of Directors including three as Chair.
In making the appointment, Minister Glen Murray stated that clean and safe drinking water is one of the most significant priorities facing Ontario and Graham’s leadership as Chair of the Mississippi-Rideau Source Protection Committee will be key to the local success of the drinking water source protection program.
