Community RESPONDs to United Way Appeal – Independent Grocers in Lanark County step up

Last week, United Way Lanark County (UWLC) announced a $40,000 shortfall for their 2016 Campaign, which is threatening our ability to support our community partners. These Partners include organizations such as Big Brothers of Big Sisters, the Youth Centres across the County, Community & Primary Health Care, the Adult Learning & Training Centre, CROW, Family & Children’s Services, and the Lanark County Community Justice Program, who support 1 in 8 people in Lanark County. The vital services and supports they provide are critical to those in need.

UWLC is reaching out to the community for their support. A number of initiatives are taking place in the month of March in an effort to make up the difference in the Campaign.

I Love My Community

Your Independent Grocer (YIG) locations across Lanark County have stepped up to the challenge and will be holding a Drive for United Way Lanark County. Patrice's YIG in Almonte, Mitchell's YIG in Carleton Place, and Barnabe's YIG in Perth will be collecting $2 at the cash from March 18th to 26th. Andress' YIG in Smiths Falls will be collecting from June 11th - 24th. The YIGs of Lanark County have been long-time supporters of UWLC. Be sure to make a donation at your local store and sign your name in support of your community!
