Carleton Place council presented Doug Snedden with the 2017 Community Builders Award at last night’s council meeting.
Snedden is a Carleton Place resident who dedicated the last decade to cleaning the Mississippi River and who is largely responsible for the emergency room expansion at the Carleton Place hospital.
Mayor Louis Antonakos gave Snedden a plaque. He thanked Snedden for his community pride and for all his effort to make Carleton Place a better town for all.
The Community Builders Award is given to a Carleton Place resident who is an outstanding volunteer that inspires others through their exemplary accomplishments, Antonakos said.
