The first in a series of public meetings hosted by the local health unit, and local school boards on the Fentanyl crisis goes this evening in Brockville.
It takes place at Brockville Collegiate Institute, in Brockville at 6:30.
A joint release from those involved says the session will offer an opportunity for students and parents to learn about counterfeit drugs, overdose response and prevention.
Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic prescription opioid that has been linked to a growing number of overdoses and overdose deaths across Canada.
Similar meetings will be held across the boards’ jurisdictions through the end of May.
There will be one held in Almonte on Monday, April 24 at Almonte District High School @ 6:30, then at St. John Catholic High School Tuesday, May 2 @ 6:30.
