April 27, 2017 by

Lanark County has signed a long term agreement to provide cross border ambulance service to 2 of its neighbouring communities.

The agreement runs until the end of 2025 and offers ambulance cooperation between Lanark county, Frontenac County and the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.

When speaking on the subject, COA Kurt Greaves said emergency situations are not dictated by political boundaries, but in fastest response available to the patients involved.

The agreement also establishes the financial details of the service sharing agreement. Local ambulance services are funded 50 per cent by local tax payers.
