The Upper Canada District School Board is spreading awareness about making mental health a priority, by taking part in the province-wide Shine Green for Mental Health campaign.

The campaign runs this week, and marks Children’s Mental Health Week.

It is an initiative of the Canadian Mental Health Association and Children’s Mental Health Ontario.

The campaign encourages staff at organizations across Ontario to light up local buildings or landmarks in green, to wear green attire during the week, or spread the word about the importance of mental health and timely care through social media messaging.

The Board is encouraging staff at its schools and administrative buildings to participate in the week through many different activities and shows of support.

Other groups are taking part in various ways. Among them, Carleton Place Town Hall will be lit up in green to make the week.
