Headshot-of-Dianne-Saxe-683x1024Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark is bringing the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario, Dr. Dianne Saxe (pictured), to his riding for a public meeting on the Environmental Bill of Rights.

The meeting is being held on Thursday, May 25 at the Portland Community Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting to start at 7 p.m. The presentation will include a question-and-answer session.

Clark says he’s looking forward to having Dr. Saxe come to the riding to raise the public’s awareness about the Environmental Bill of Rights and the role of her office.

He adds it will be great to be able to hold the meeting in Portland, "Because I know the environment is a concern for the many cottage and lake associations in our area."

The Environmental Bill of Rights came into force in 1994 and establishes the process for public participation in decisions that affect the environment.

Clark noted some of his Ontario PC caucus colleagues have hosted similar public forums that were well received by those in attendance.
