Major grow-op dismantled in Tay Valley Township – several charged, one being sought

opp-logo-300x241Several OPP divisions came together last Friday to execute a warrant on a rural property and residence in Tay Valley Township – breaking up a significant grow-op in the process.

Six people were arrested, and one other is still being sought.

A search of the residence and outbuildings revealed an extensive indoor marijuana grow operation. Police seized: 6,139 marijuana plants, 182 pounds of dried marijuana, 630 grams of cannabis oil, 548 grams of hard cannabis resin, and Indoor marijuana growing equipment.

They also found a sawed off semi-automatic shotgun and two Tasers, and some cash.

The following people face various charges: 61 year-old William Kenneth Pinto of Lanark Highlands; 51 year-old Richard Marovas of Toronto; 41 year-old John Kennedy of Central Frontenac; 31 year-old Jacob Isenberg of Central Frontenac; 30 year-old Richard Little of Newmarket; and 25 year-old Frank Teal of South Frontenac.

All were released pending a court appearance, except for Pinto who was held, pending a bail hearing.

An arrest warrant has been requested for the seventh un-named accused - a 62 year old male from York, Ontario.
