They have made it official.

After months of discussion Lanark County council officially designated the Ottawa Valley Recreation Trail as multi-use at last week’s council meeting.

Multi-use includes all methods of self-propelled transportation, like cycling and running, as well as horseback riding, snowmobiles, ATVs and side-by-sides.

Council heard from many important stakeholders throughout the designation process including ATV and snowmobile clubs and residents who live close to the trail.

Council said that if a municipality needs to make adjustments it can come forward with a bypass solution and County will consider it.
