Canal almost open from end-to-end

SF 03The length of the Rideau Canal is almost open.

Parks Canada released a statement that says due to high water levels and excessive flows Upper Brewers, Lower Brewers and Kingston Mills Locks remain closed to navigation.

Residents and visitors are reminded to exercise caution around high flowing water. Boaters are also asked watch their wake as it can be dangerous to other boaters and damaging to properties along the canal.

Parks Canada thanks the public for its patience and cooperation at this time while our team continues to manage water on the system as levels stabilize after an unprecedented amount of precipitation.

As the weather continues to cooperate, we will have the entire Rideau Canal open for navigation when it is safe to do so.
