Disturbance call results in arrest
On Monday July 24, 2017 at approximately 12:12 p.m., police were called to attend a residence on Maple Avenue North for a report of a disturbance. Police attended and investigation revealed that a 24 year old female of Smiths Falls had entered a residence unlawfully and assaulted a male while inside. The suspect was arrested and charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling and assault. The suspect was later released by way of an appearance notice and officer in charge undertaking with conditions.

Fraudulent prescriptions nets arrest
On Monday July 24, 2017 at approximately 5:23 p.m., police were called to attend a pharmacy on Lombard Street for a report of a suspicious prescription. Police attended and investigation revealed that a 51 year old female of Ottawa, Ontario, had used a forged prescription at several pharmacies in Smiths Falls. Police located the suspect and placed her under arrest on scene. The suspect is charged with three counts of uttering a forged document and possession of a controlled substance. She was later released by way of an appearance notice and officer in charge undertaking with conditions.

Assault results in arrest
On Wednesday July 26, 2017 at approximately 9:14 a.m., police were called to attend a residence on Lombard Street for a report of an assault. Police attended and investigation revealed that a 19 year old female resident had assaulted a male. Police arrested the suspect and she faces the following charges; assault with a weapon, assault, resist arrest, assault police and two additional charges of breaching her previous release conditions. The suspect was held for a bail hearing to answer to these charges.

Male arrested after phoning police repeatedly
On Friday July 28, 2017 police arrested a 32 year old Smiths Falls male suspect for phoning the Smiths Falls Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police repeatedly over a few day span for non- legitimate police business. As a result of police investigation, the suspect is charged with public mischief, mischief, harassing phone calls and resisting arrest. The suspect was held for a bail hearing to answer to these charges.
