The Smiths Falls Community Food Bank got a boost to its inventory thanks to a unique approach to providing a community dinner over the Thanksgiving long-weekend.

Baker’s Fries hosted the dinner from 11-3 on Sunday at their chip truck which was decorated for the season.

Full Thanksgiving dinners with all the trimmings were provided in exchange for a donation of two non-perishable food items that were then donated to the Smiths Falls Community Food Bank.

Owners Darlene and Mark Baker served meals to 65 adults and 20 children over the course of the day.

It’s the only local dinner to be provided by a fry-truck.

Congratulations to all involved.
