OPP shares operation Impact results from Lanark, Leeds Counties

OPPLake88-300x227-250x180Over the Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend, the Ontario Provincial Police joined its policing partners for Operation Impact, a national road safety campaign that focuses on impaired driving, moving and seatbelt violations, distracted driving and speeding.

We’ve been sharing numbers from local detachments.

Over the course of the long weekend the Lanark County Detachment laid several charges including 86 for speeding, 1 for stunt driving/racing, 3 for distracted driving, 4 for improper use of a seat belt, and 1 for impaired driving.

The Detachment issued a statement saying, “Lanark County OPP thanks their community and visiting road users for their support, cooperation and compliance during the campaign.”

The Leeds Detachment reports that they issued a total of 68 speeding charges. Three Stunt Driving charges, 5 Seat-belt charges, 1 Distracted Driving charge, 21 Hazardous Moving Violation charges, and 2 Impaired Driving charges were laid.
