Smiths Falls police share Operation Impact results

SF Police Car 01The Smiths Falls Police Service is sharing its numbers from Operation Impact – the national road safety campaign that focuses on impaired driving, moving and seat belt violations, distracted driving and speeding.

Over the course of the long weekend the Smiths Falls Police Service laid several charges including: 23 for speeding, 3 for failing to yield, 4 insurance related offences, 3 for driving while unlicensed or suspended and 10 other provincial offence charges.

The Smiths Falls Police Service conducted five RIDE checks as well over the course of the weekend. A total of 590 driver/operator contacts were made by police to keep our roadways safe.
