Basin work means closures in Smiths Falls, pedestrian bridge removal

November 13, 2017 by

Abbott St BridgeThe south pedestrian bridge in the Victoria Park basin in Smiths Falls has been removed for the season.

The town says the removal is part of a larger plan that will see a significant amount of construction in the basin over the Winter months.

The town does apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

In a separate notice late last month the town said road closures are required for Parks Canada to complete maintenance on the Swing Bridges in Smiths Falls.

The Swing Bridge on Abbott will be closed tomorrow, November 14th, the 15th, and possibly the 16th, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00p.m. daily to do some maintenance on both the swing and fixed bridges.

The town says that you can expect delays.
