Lanark County Police Report

opp-logo-300x241Between Monday November 20th and Monday November 27th, officers from the Lanark Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 391 calls for service.

The calls included:

60 Motor Vehicle Collisions including:

  • Car / Deer - 24
  • Parking Lots - 5
  • Single Motor Vehicle off Road ("In Ditch") - 15

At 7:30pm on Friday November 24 officers were called to a residence on Upper Perth road in the Township of Lanark Highlands, where a vehicle had fled the scene after causing damage to a lane way and retaining wall. Investigation revealed that a dark coloured vehicle (possibly a pickup truck) had been traveling west bound when it left the roadway and skidded across the lawn of the home. In the process of fleeing the scene the vehicle caused damage to the wall and laneway. The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have information about the incident is asked to contact the Lanark County OPP Detachment at 613 267-2626.

Impaired Drivers

At about 12:22am on Saturday November 25 officers on patrol stopped a Dodge pickup truck on Smith drive in the Town of Perth. A 25 year-old from Tay Valley Township is charged with: One (1) count Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol per 100mls of Blood Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 1:56pm on Sunday November 26 officers stopped an International farm tractor on Wildlife Road in Drummond North Elmsley Township. A 51 year-old man from Tay Valley Township is charged with: One (1) Count Driving Motor Vehicle with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol per 100mls of Blood Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 3:16pm on Sunday November 26 officers were called to a single motor vehicle "rollover" collision on Rideau ferry road, near Coutts Bay road in Drummond North Elmsley Township. On arrival the officers found a Ford pickup truck on the west side of the road. The vehicle was resting on the driver's side partly on the shoulder and partly obstructing the southbound lane. A 46 year-old Ottawa man is charged with: One (1) Count Care or Control of Motor Vehicle with More than 80 mgs of alcohol per 100mls of Blood, One (1) Count Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol. Both offences are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Domestic Incidents 

At 8:03am on Sunday November 26 officers were called to a residence on Santiago Street in the Town of Carleton Place. As a result of a subsequent investigation a thirty four (34) year old man from the Town of Carleton Place is charged with: One (1) Count Assault, One (1) Count Utter Threat to Cause Bodily Harm, One (1) Count Mischief. All offences are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Officers also dealt with 9 other incidents related to communication, child custody and property disputes.
