Lanark County OPP report

opp-logo-300x241Between Monday December 18, 2017 and Monday December 25, 2017 officers from the Lanark Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 390 calls for service.

The calls included:

67 Motor Vehicle Collisions including: 

  • Fatality                1
  • Car / Deer         15
  • Parking Lots         5
  • Single Motor Vehicle off Road ("In Ditch")       27

Impaired Drivers

At 9.24pm on Tuesday December 19th, officers were responded to reports of single vehicle collision on Drummond Concession 2 in Drummond North Elmsley Township. Investigation revealed that a Pontiac passenger vehicle traveling southbound on Hand's Road crossed the intersection with Drummond Concession 2 and left the road striking guide wires connected to a hydro pole and traveling on across a field until coming to rest against a tree. A 37 year-old woman of Drummond North Elmsley Township is charged with:

  •  One (1) Count        Driving While Ability Impaired (Alcohol)
  •  One (1) Count        Driving With More than 80mgs of Alcohol per 100mls of Blood
  •  One (1) Count        Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

All the offences are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Domestic Incidents

At 10:03pm on Sunday December 24th, officers were called to an apartment on Bridge Street in the Town of Carleton Place. As a result of the subsequent investigation a thirty one 31 year-old woman from the Town of Carleton Place is charged with:

  • One (1) Count       Assault.

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Officers dealt with nine other incidents involving unwanted communication, property disputes and child custody issues.

Family Disputes

At 10:39am on Sunday December 24th, officers were called to a disturbance at a residence on the Drummond North Elmsley Township side of South Street bordering the Town of Perth. A 19 year-old Drummond North Elmsley Township woman is charged with:

  • One (1) Count       Assault a Peace Officer
  • One (1) Count       Resist a Peace Officer

Both offences are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Officers dealt with seven (7) other family dispute incidents.
