Weather Statement SnowEnvironment Canada has issued a Special weather statement for:

  • Plevna - Sharbot Lake - Western Lanark County
  • Smiths Falls - Perth - Eastern Lanark County

Some freezing rain is possible late this afternoon and evening across portions of central and eastern Ontario as a warm front approaches the area.

Its believed it will hit the Lake 88 listening area on the later side of the afternoon or early this evening. It is tracking west-to-east.

Latest analysis suggests that the freezing rain will be fairly light and patchy. Temperatures are expected to rise above the freezing mark this evening with the passage of the warm front ending the threat of freezing rain.

For areas closer to the Quebec border including the Ottawa Valley, the freezing rain may persist a bit longer tonight, although amounts are still expected to be light. The area is being monitored for potential freezing rain warnings.

Locally slippery conditions are possible on untreated surfaces.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Lake 88 will provide updates as they become available.
