Smiths Falls Peewee Bears come up short in bid for Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup

February 26, 2018 by

The Pas Huskies from Manitoba have been named the winners of this year’s Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup beating out hundreds of Peewee teams from across the country, including the Peewee Bears of Smiths Falls who were one of three finalists for the honour.

The winner was announced this morning at about 9:30 during TSN’s NHL Trade Deadline coverage.

The Good Deeds Cup honours a Pee Wee level team who helps to make a positive difference in their community off the ice, by performing the most impressive good deed in Canada.

The Bears has an exceptional effort supporting the local branch of the Salvation Army.

They helped the organization with their numerous Christmas campaigns – working the donation kettles, serving meals and collecting gifts to give to children in need.

They continued their work with the Salvation Army when need-be, including collecting food at their tailgate party two weeks ago that they held to thank the community for their support.

Congratulations are going out to the team for an incredible effort.
