Lanark County OPP report

Between Monday, February 19th and Monday February 26th officers from the Lanark Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 260 calls for service.

The calls included:

23 Motor Vehicle Collisions including:

  • Car / Deer           5
  • Parking Lots      10
  • Single Motor Vehicle off Road ("In Ditch")

Impaired Drivers.

At 3:17am on Thursday February 22nd, officers responded to reports of Chevrolet passenger vehicle westbound on Highway 7 from the City of Ottawa into Beckwith Township. The vehicle was reported as driving erratically, entering and exiting the north ditch. Officers stopped the vehicle near the intersection with McNeely Avenue in the Town of Carleton Place. A 61 year-old resident of Carleton Place is charged with:

  • One (1) Count     Drive Motor Vehicle while Impaired by Alcohol
  • One (1) Count     Drive Motor Vehicle with More than 80mgs of Alcohol per 100mls of Blood

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 3:25pm on Friday February 23rd, officers responded to reports of a possibly impaired driver of a Ford pick-up truck being driven in Almonte in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills. The vehicle was located traveling on Blakeney Road. A 34 year-old woman is charged with:

  • One (1) Count     Drive Motor Vehicle while Impaired by Alcohol
  • One (1) Count     Drive Motor Vehicle with More than 80mgs of Alcohol per 100mls of Blood

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
She was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Domestic Incidents

At 12:20am on Tuesday February 20th, officers were called to a residence on Maude Street in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills. As a result of the subsequent investigation a twenty (20) year old man from the Municipality is charged with:

  • One (1) Count     Assault
  • One (1) Count     Resist Peace Officer

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Officers dealt with 4 other complaints regarding communication disputes.
