Short Term Restrictions – Drinking Water System

To: All Residents/Businesses of the Town of Smiths Falls

The Town experienced a water main break earlier today. This break was isolated. The Water Treatment Plant will be refilling the system reservoirs until tomorrow.

We have been in consultation with the Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit. Town residents are advised that there are no concerns regarding drinking water quality. The water is safe to drink.

Residents/Businesses are asked to please limit any non-essential use of Town water until further notice.

You may experience some fluctuations in pressure and/or light discoloration of water. This is only in the appearance and does not affect the safety.

We thank everyone for their patience and cooperation.

Please stay tuned to the Town’s webpage or the town's Facebook page for updates.
