Lanark County OPP Report

Between Monday March 5, 2018 and Monday March 12, 2018 officers from the Lanark Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 351 calls for service.

The calls included:

33 Motor Vehicle Collisions including:

Car / Deer             4

Car / Turkey          1

Parking Lots          2

Single Motor Vehicle off Road ("In Ditch")       7

Impaired Drivers

At 12:35pm on Wednesday March 7th, officers responded to reports of a possibly impaired driver of a Honda passenger vehicle being driven in the Town of Perth. The vehicle was located traveling on Craig Street. A 60 year-old Perth Man is charged with:

  • One (1) Count        Driving Motor Vehicle with More than 80mgs of Alcohol per 100mls of Blood

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

  • One (1) Count        Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor

Contrary to the Liquor Licence Act

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Domestic Incidents

At 10:47am on Wednesday March 7th, officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Richardson Side Road in Drummond North Elmsley Township. Investigation revealed that as a result of a domestic incident a Honda passenger vehicle traveled off the roadway, through the ditch, struck a tree finally coming to rest on the front lawn of a residence. A 22 year old man from Drummond North Elmsley Township is charged with:

  • One (1) Count        Assault
  • One (1) Count        Mischief

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 10:09pm on Friday March 9th, officers responded to a report of an assault at a residence on Drummond Street East in the Town of Perth. As a result of the subsequent investigation a twenty three (23) year old man form the Town of Perth is charged with:

  • Three (3) Counts    Assault
  • One (1) Count        Forcible Confinement

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Officer dealt with seven other incidents relating to communication and property disputes.
