Leeds OPP lay more stunt driving charges

opp-logo-300x241Members of the Ontario Provincial Police are investigating more stunt drivers on Leeds County Highways.

On March 16th at about 2:45 AM, Ontario Provincial Police officers in Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township stopped a westbound vehicle on Highway 401. Speeds were in excess of 52 kilometres over the speed limit. As a result of the investigation, an 18 year old North Dundas driver found his vehicle towed, and impounded for 7 days.

On the same date at about 11:25 PM, Ontario Provincial Police officers in Rideau Lakes Township stopped a speeding car travelling on Highway 15. Speeds were in excess of 62 kilometres over the speed limit. As a result of the investigation, a 26 year old Ottawa man found his vehicle towed, and impounded for 7 days.

At 11:35 PM a Mississauga man found his vehicle towed and impounded after being stopped on Highway 401 for driving 54 kilometres over the speed limit.

All are scheduled to appear at Brockville Provincial Offences Court at a later date to answer to their charges.
