Lanark County Police Report

OPPLake88-300x227Between Monday April 9th and Monday April 16th, 2018 officers from the Lanark Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 341 calls for service.

The calls included 21 Motor Vehicle Collisions including:

  • 6 Car / Deer
  • 4 in Parking Lots
  • 8 Single Motor Vehicle off Road ("In Ditch")

Impaired Drivers

At 10:57am on Thursday April 12 officers were dealing with an incident near the Provincial Court on Drummond Street East in Perth when, as part of the investigation, they spoke to the driver of a Kia passenger vehicle. A 69 year-old from Drummond North Elmsley Township is charged with:

  • One (1) Count Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with over 80mgs of Alcohol per 100mls of Blood

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Domestic Incidents

At 6:53pm on Wednesday April 11th, officers were called to a residence on Judson Street in the Town of Carleton Place. As a result of the subsequent investigation a thirty one (31) year old man from Montague Township is charged with:

  • One (1) Count           Forcible Confinement.
  • Three  (3) Counts      Assault
  • One (1) Count           Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • One (1) Count            Mischief

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 2:13pm on Thursday April 12th, a thirty four (34) year old woman from Tay Valley Township attended the Lanark County OPP Detachment in the Town of Perth to report an incident in which she had involved on the previous day. As a result of the subsequent investigation she was charged with:

  • One (1) Count           Assault

She was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 3:31pm on Friday April 13th, officers were called to a residence on Nelson Street East in the Town of Carleton Place. As a result of the subsequent investigation a fifty nine (59) year old man from the Town of Carleton Place is charged:

  • One (1) Count           Assault
  • One (1) Count           Overcome Residence by Attempting to Choke, Suffocate or Strangle
  • One (1) Count           Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 10:36am on Sunday April 15th, officers were called to a residence on Drummond Concession 8A in Drummond North Elmsley Township. As a result of the subsequent investigation a thirty (30) year old man from that Township is charged:

  • One (1) Count           Assault with a Weapon
  • Three (3) Counts       Assault
  • Two (2) Counts          Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm

He was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Officers also dealt with 15 other incidents relating to unwanted communication, property disputes and child custody.
