Current Deputy Mayor John Gemmell and current Councillor Jim Boldt have both filed their papers to run for the position of Mayor in Perth.

Boldt has been a Perth Councillor for two terms, first elected in 2010, while Gemmell was first elected to Perth Town Council in 2003 and became deputy mayor in 2009.

In Smiths Falls no one, including current Mayor Shawn Pankow, has filed papers to run for the position.

While in Carleton Place, current Mayor Louis Antonakos is the only candidate declared though Deputy Mayor Jerry Flynn has said publicly he plans to seek the position.
