Randy-talking-198x300Recently re-elected conservative MPP has kicked off his tour of local municipalities. The Lanark Frontenac Kingston representative has made it his goal to visit council meetings in his constituency and started with a visit to Carleton Place town council on Tuesday night.

While addressing council and members of the public who were in attendance, Hillier commented on what the switch to a Conservative majority in Ontario means, and informed listeners of his party’s commitment to working more closely with municipalities.

“This change that happened last week also signals a transformative change in the relationships between the provincial government and our municipal partners," Hillier sated. "I know we’ve heard that term often, municipal partners, in the past. I don’t believe it’s actually been a partnership so much, over the last decade,” added the MPP.

Hillier will visit as many council meetings as he can within the riding before the various municipalities begin their summer breaks in order to hear concerns and discuss plans.
