News From RCHSRideau Community Health Services (RCHS) is pleased to announce that it has been granted a 4 year accreditation by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation (CCA). The hard work, professionalism and dedication of our staff and Board of Directors are clearly reflected in this significant achievement.

“To be accredited by the CCA is truly a seal of approval,” says Jacques Pelletier, the Board Chair of RCHS. Our clients and community partners can be assured that we have undergone an extensive internal and external review process that measures our practices against sector and industry standards.”

Accreditation is a process that provides assurance from a respected third-party that the accredited organization meets commonly accepted standards for good governance, management, and excellence in service provision. It is one way that we demonstrate to our clients and funders that we are operating responsibly and providing responsive and quality services.

Full accreditation requires 100% compliance with 44 mandatory standards and a minimum of 80% compliance with 30 leading practice standards. RCHS is proud to have met all mandatory and leading practice standards and to have been recognized by the review team for its “passionate and cohesive staff team that is committed to quality and client-centred care delivery; and a board of directors that is well connected and forward-thinking.”

“One of the key benefits of participating in CCA’s accreditation program is that it promotes an ongoing culture of learning and quality improvement throughout the organization,” says Peter McKenna, Executive Director of RCHS. “By choosing to go through the CCA accreditation process, RCHS continues to demonstrate its accountability to the community and its commitment to providing the highest quality programs and services.”
