Full burn/fire ban in effect for Lanark County and neighbouring municipalities

July 11, 2018 by

Burn Fire Ban in EffectPerth’s Fire Chief, Trevor Choffe says a full fire ban is now in place for all Lanark County.

There had been a partial ban in effect for the county, but the new ban means that absolutely no burning of any sort is permitted.

The dry conditions and lack of precipitation in the forecast are getting the blame.

Other municipalities to issue full bans include Elizabethtown-Kitley, Townships of: Addington Highlands and North Frontenac.

In general a full burning ban means a total fire ban prohibiting the burning of debris, burning in an outdoor incinerator, chimneys, Fireworks displays, campfires of any type, and charcoal installations.
