Rideau Lakes Fire Chief says fire ban in effect

July 13, 2018 by

Burn Fire Ban in EffectRideau Lakes is the latest community to issue a fire ban, though theirs is a little more lenient than others that have banned burning of all kinds at all times of day.

Fire Chief Steve Fournier said in a release: Due to extremely dry conditions the Township of Rideau Lakes has instituted a level one fire ban which prohibits all open burning.

However, small supervised campfires for cooking  and warmth are permitted after 6pm. Make sure fires are completely extinguished at bedtime.

It is also recommended that fireworks not be discharged at this time.
