The town of Smiths Falls has issued an apology after a cleanup of Hillcrest Cemetery, including many objects placed at graves from loved ones, was recently carried out.

The move upset many who had placed the flowers, statues and other objects, only to find them removed without notice.

The winter overnight parking ban is now in effect throughout the Town.

That means no parking is permitted on any street under the Town’s jurisdiction from 12:01AM-6:00AM.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95 in Smiths Falls has, for the past year, been working on bringing in a LAV III armoured vehicle as a memorial to Afghan Veterans.
