Provincial Police yesterday located the body of a 51-year-old Pakenham woman, who’d been the subject of an intensive search after she disappeared in late January.
Lanark County Detachment officers, with assistance of the OPP helicopter unit, found the body of Tina Smithson, who’s believed to have fallen through ice near her home. She’d been missing since January 26th. Police say their investigation indicates the woman left her residence on foot and fell through the ice into a fast-flowing creek. Members of the Lanark OPP Detachment, assisted by members of the Eastern Region Emergency Response Team conducted the extensive search of the area surrounding her home for several days at the time of her disappearance. |
