OPP investigates retail and construction site thefts |

The OPP is investigating thefts of more than $28,000 in property from two Carleton Place retail stores, plus $29,000 in tools from other Carleton Place-area locations.
Between July 21st and 22nd, thieves entered storage trailers at the Rona store on McNeely Ave, removing five snow blowers worth about $20,000. On the same date, storage trailers at Canadian Tire on McNeely Ave were entered, thieves helping themselves to 30 snow tires valued at $8,000. Lanark County OPP is investigating other occurrences between July 2nd and 19th. In one report, thieves stole power tools from a storage unit on a construction site with a value of $16,000. In another, on Industrial Avenue in Carleton Place, thieves gained entry to a commercial property where about $7,500 worth of tools was taken. And on July 19th, intruders entered a residence under construction on Highway 15 in Beckwith Township, taking power tools worth $5,500.
