Male arrested for breaching release condition
On Wednesday October 24, 2018 at approximately 7:10 p.m., police observed a 40 year old male suspect of Smiths Falls, known to police, in a business on Lombard Street. The suspect had been allegedly consuming alcohol contrary to his officer in charge undertaking release condition. The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest for breaching his release condition and later released by way of a promise to appear in court and officer in charge undertaking to answer to this charge.
 
Female driver arrested for impaired driving
On Wednesday October 24, 2018 at approximately 10:00 p.m., police received a 9-1-1 call from a concerned citizen in regards to a possible impaired driver in the downtown core. Police located the vehicle a short time later and conducted a traffic stop on Brockville Street. Investigation revealed that the 37 year old female driver of Rideau Lakes, was allegedly impaired by alcohol. The suspect was arrested and later provided suitable samples of her breath to a qualified breath technician. The suspect stands charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The suspect was later released by way of a promise to appear in court and had her driver’s licence suspended for a period of 90 days, vehicle towed and impounded.
 
Female arrested for domestic assault
On Saturday October 27, 2018 at approximately 3:53 a.m., police were called to attend a residence on Abel Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed that a female suspect had allegedly assaulted her boyfriend. The victim, suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault. The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest for domestic assault and later released by way of a promise to appear in court and officer in charge undertaking with conditions.
 
Male driver arrested for impaired driving
On Saturday October 27, 2018 at approximately 11:49 p.m., police received a call from a concerned citizen in regards to a possible impaired driver. Police located the vehicle a short time later and conducted a traffic stop on Jasper Avenue. Investigation revealed that the 71 year old male driver of Toledo, was allegedly impaired by alcohol. The suspect was placed under arrest and he later provided suitable samples of his breath to a qualified breath technician. The suspect stands charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood. The suspect was later released by way of a promise to appear in court and had his driver’s licence suspended for a period of 90 days, his vehicle towed and impounded.
 
Male arrested for domestic assault
On Sunday October 28, 2018 at approximately 12:13 a.m., police were called to a residence on McGill Street North for a report of a domestic assault. Investigation revealed that a 39 year old male suspect had allegedly assaulted his partner inside the residence and fled prior to police arrival. Police located and arrested the suspect a short time later. He stands charged with one count of domestic assault and held for a bail hearing to answer to this charge.
 
Male arrested for breaching his release conditions
On Thursday November 1, 2018 at approximately 12:06 p.m., police received a complaint in regards to a male suspect possibly breaching his release conditions. Investigation revealed that a 34 year old male suspect of Delta, had allegedly breached his release conditions stemming from a previous domestic assault. Police located the suspect a short time later and placed him under arrest. He stands charged with 3 counts of breaching his recognizance of bail release conditions. The suspect was later released by way of a promise to appear in court to answer to these charges.
 
Male located in residence arrested
On Friday November 2, 2018 at approximately 6:18 p.m., police received a call to attend a residence on Empress Avenue for a well-being check of a resident. While inside the residence, police located a 25 year old male suspect of Smiths Falls, hiding in a closet. A check of the suspect revealed that he was on outstanding release conditions not to be at the residence stemming from a previous domestic related incident. The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest for allegedly breaching his recognizance of bail condition and later released by way of a promise to appear in court and officer in charge undertaking.
 
Male arrested for outstanding warrant
On Monday November 5, 2018 at approximately 11:43 a.m., police located and arrested a 56 year old male suspect of Smiths Falls, for an outstanding arrest warrant held by the Lanark County O.P.P.
The suspect was later turned over to the O.P.P.
