Blood donor clinic to honour SFDCI teacher goes today at SF Legion
Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute staff is hosting a special blood donor clinic today in honour of the late Kristine MacLaren, a teacher at the school.
In May of last year, Kristine, who taught Music and Arts was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer originating from smooth muscle. She needed close to 40 units of blood over the course of her treatment.
She passed away on Thursday, July 5th of this year in hospital in Carleton Place with her family and loved ones by her side.
The clinic will take place this afternoon from 1 pm to 4 pm and then again this evening 5 pm to 8 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion in Smiths Falls.
