Special Weather Statement – Snow and possible freezing rain on the way
Just as it looks like we’re set to get out of the deep freeze, Environment Canada has now officially issued a special weather statement for our listening area.
The weather agency says we can expect to see snow tonight and tomorrow with freezing rain possible tomorrow afternoon.
A Colorado low will track northeast across Lake Huron and Georgian Bay Wednesday, with snow likely followed by freezing rain later Wednesday. Snow will arrive tonight and continue into Wednesday, before becoming mixed with or changing to freezing rain later in the day. Local snowfall amounts will range from 5 to 10 cm.
Environment Canada is closely monitoring this situation. Freezing rain warnings may be required by Wednesday as this event draws closer.
Poor winter driving conditions are expected.
