Winter Storm Warning continues – driving conditions treacherous
The winter storm warning continues for our listening area.
Environment Canada says hazardous winter conditions are expected.
Additional snowfall amounts of 5 cm are expected today. Easterly winds gusting up to 60 km/h may cause near zero visibility in blowing snow.
Total snowfall amounts of 25 to 35 cm are likely before the snow tapers off to flurries later this morning.
Impacts to travel are likely with this storm. Localized power outages are also possible.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
