Driver arrested for impaired driving
On Saturday June 1, 2019 at approximately 9:36 p.m., police received a 9-1-1- call from a concerned motorist who was driving behind a suspected impaired driver. Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and found that the 53 year old male driver of Stittsville, was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening device was performed on the driver resulting in a “fail” reading. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for having more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.The driver had his driver’s licence suspended for a period of 90 days, vehicle impounded and was later released by way of a promise to appear in court to answer to this charge.

Male arrested after domestic related incident
On Monday June 3, 2019 at approximately 8:27 p.m., police received several 9-1-1 calls to attend a residence on Roosevelt Drive for a report of a possible domestic disturbance. Police attended and located an intoxicated 32 year old male suspect of Smiths Falls, attempting to gain entry into the residence. Investigation revealed that the suspect had been engaged in a verbal argument with a female resident and damaged property inside the residence. The suspect was placed under arrest for domestic mischief to property under $5000.00 and held for a bail hearing to answer to this charge.

Female arrested for outstanding warrant
On Tuesday June 4, 2019 at approximately 2:20 p.m., police located and arrested a 35 year old female suspect of Chantry, Ontario for an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The warrant was issued, stemming from a domestic related incident on May 30, 2019 at a residence on Johnston Street. The suspect stands charged with one count of domestic mischief to property under $5000.00 and was later released by way of a promise to appear in court and officer in charge undertaking to answer to this charge.
