The Ministry of Natural Resources, the OPP and Fire department were all on hand yesterday after a small bear was spotted in a tree in Perth. It happened at the corner of Arthur and Grant streets.

The bear was up a fair ways in the tree. Witnesses tell Lake 88 that a Ministry official tranquilized the bear and it fell to the ground.

The bear was released back into the wild, according to the OPP.

Curious neighbours gathered to watch the standoff unfold, but were kept a fair distance away for their own safety.

The OPP later gave the all-clear in a tweet.
