Perth and surrounding townships seek public input on joint Recreation Master Plan
The town of Perth and the surrounding municipalities of Tay Valley, Drummond/North Elmsley, and Lanark Highlands are working together to mold the area’s recreational aspirations through a Recreation Master Plan.
The town says the principal objectives of the project are to determine community priorities and develop a series of recommendations and action steps to accommodate the current and future recreational needs of the municipalities.
Perth Mayor John Fenik tells Lake 88 that public input will play a major role. “Our Recreational Master Plan is underway,” said the Mayor. “We have a survey out there, and it is really important that public have input on this, not only for the town of Perth and surrounding townships, but because this survey is going to determine how the townships and Perth move forward with recreation.”
Mayor Fenik says results will let them know how important things like an extra ice surface in the town would be to those who have children in minor hockey and don’t want to travel as much. It will also look at new uses for the town’s pool, trail development and other ideas.
The end product will guide future investment in facilities, programs, services and partnerships.
The Mayor says the survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. You can find it by clicking or tapping here.
