Female arrested for shoplifting

On Wednesday August 28, 2019 at approximately 5:32 p.m., police were called to a Lombard Street business for a report of a female shoplifter. Investigation revealed that the 33 year old female suspect, of Smiths Falls, had allegedly entered two businesses, selected, concealed and did not make any attempt to pay for merchandise. The suspect was placed under arrest, stands charged with two charges of Theft Under $5000.00 and was later released by way of a Promise to Appear in Court and Officer in Charge Undertaking.

Trespassing leads to multiple charges

On Wednesday August 28, 2019 at approximately 8:09 p.m., police were called to a business on Lombard Street for a report of a male suspect trespassing. Investigation revealed that a 45 year old male suspect, of Smiths Falls, had allegedly entered the business after being issued a trespass notice previously and that he had breached his release conditions. Police located the suspect a short time later and attempted to place the suspect under arrest. The suspect attempted to pull away from the grasp of police and failed to comply with their directions. The suspect was eventually placed under arrest and found to have stolen merchandise from another business on his person. The suspect stands charged with the following: Breach of Probation Order x2, Breach of Officer in Charge Undertaking x2, Resist Arrest and one count of Theft Under $5000.00. The suspect was later released by way of a Promise to Appear in Court and Officer in Charge Undertaking to answer to these charges.

Male arrested for failing to report to court

On Friday August 30, 2019 at approximately 3:30 p.m., police located and arrested 33 year old Adam JACKSON, of Smiths Falls, for failing to report to court. JACKSON was brought to court earlier in the day for the purpose of having his surety revoked. JACKSON fled from the courthouse and breached his release conditions. JACKSON stands charged with breaching his Recognizance release condition and additionally with Being Unlawfully at Large. He was held for a bail hearing to answer to these charges.

Male arrested for breaching court order

On Friday August 30, 2019 at approximately 6:22 p.m., police were called to attend a business on Russell Street east for a report of a male suspect being in contravention of his court ordered release conditions. Investigation revealed that a 31 year old male suspect had allegedly breached his condition by entering inside the business. The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest and later released by way of a Promise to Appear in Court and Officer in Charge Undertaking to answer to this charge.

Male arrested for outstanding warrant

On Wednesday September 4, 2019 at approximately 12:17 p.m., police located and arrested a 31 year old male suspect, of Smiths Falls, for an outstanding warrant for his arrest held by the Lanark County O.P.P. The suspect was later turned over to the O.P.P.

Male arrested for shoplifting

On Thursday September 5, 2019 at approximately 3:01 p.m., police were called to attend a business on Beckwith Street north for a report of a male shoplifter. Investigation revealed that a 31 year old male suspect, of Smiths Falls had allegedly entered the business a short time prior, selected, concealed and made no attempts to pay for the merchandise before exiting. Police located and placed the suspect under arrest a short time later. The suspect stands charged with one count of Theft Under $5000.00 and was held for a bail hearing to answer to this charge.

Male arrested after disturbance

On Thursday September 5, 2019 at approximately 8:12 p.m., police were called to a residential complex on Beckwith Street north for a report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed that a 34 year old male suspect of Smiths Falls, was allegedly yelling at another resident and refused to quiet down and was disturbing other residents by doing so. The suspect was placed under arrest and stands charged with one count of Mischief and two counts of breaching his Officer in Charge Undertaking release conditions. The suspect was later released by way of a Promise to Appear in Court and Officer in Charge Undertaking to answer to these charges.

Female arrested for outstanding warrant

On Friday September 6, 2019 at approximately 12:48 p.m., police located and arrested a 46 year old female suspect of Smiths Falls, for an outstanding warrant for her arrest issued by the Sûreté du Québec Police for numerous criminal charges. The suspect was later turned over to the Sûreté du Québec Police to answer to these charges.

Female arrested for shoplifting

On Saturday September 7, 2019 at approximately 3:31 p.m., police were called to attend a business on Lombard Street for a report of a female shoplifter. Investigation revealed that a 44 year old female suspect, of Smiths Falls, had allegedly entered the store, selected, concealed and did not make any effort pay for merchandise before leaving the business. Police located and placed the suspect under arrest a short time later. The suspect stands charged with Theft Under $5000.00 and one count of breaching her Officer in Charge Undertaking release conditions. The suspect was held for a bail hearing to answer to these charges.

Female arrested for breaching her release conditions

On Saturday September 7, 2019 at approximately 7:31 p.m., police received information that a 27 year old female suspect, of Iroquois, Ontario, may be breaching her release conditions in Smiths Falls. Investigation revealed that the suspect was not residing at her court approved address and was associating with a male listed in her release conditions not too. Police located and placed the suspect under arrest a short time later. The suspect stands charged with: two counts of breaching her Recognizance of Bail release conditions and four counts of breaching her Probation Order release conditions. The suspect was held for a bail hearing to answer to these outstanding charges.
