Lanark County soon to elect new Warden

An election for the positions of Lanark County Warden and Community Services Chair will be coming within weeks.

At the council meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 13, Clerk Leslie Drynan confirmed that Tay Valley Reeve Brian Campbell and Lanark Highlands Reeve Peter McLaren have both put their name forward for the position of county warden. 

The vote will take place on Nov 27 with ballots cast by county councilors.  In addition the position of Community Services chair will be contested by Mississippi Mills Deputy Mayor Rickey Minnille and the current chair, Beckwith Deputy Reeve Sharon Mousseau.

Acclaimed were Beckwith Reeve Richard Kidd as Corporate Services chair, Perth Mayor John Fenik as Economic Development chair, and Montague Deputy Reeve Klaas Van Der Meer as Public Works chair.  The swearing-in ceremony will be held on Dec 3.
