Infographic – Catholic teachers cancel strikes, High School teachers to walk out Friday
The Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association has cancelled its rotating strikes that had been planned for this week as talks with a mediator will continue to work towards a new contract with the province.
Schools in the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario were to be be closed this Friday, but instead, will now be open as per usual.
The Ontario Second School Teachers’ Federation announced late last week that they will be returning to rotating strike starting this Friday. Several board will be out including the Upper Canada District School Board.
Talks with the Secondary teachers, elementary teachers, and French teachers remain stalled. With issues like teacher safety and class-sizes at the forefront. The unions are also asking for a 2% raise, while the province is offering 1%.
