The Table is ready to keep supporting our community during the pandemic

by | Mar 26, 2020 | Local News | 0 comments

As the COVID19 pandemic  threatens our community The Table is receiving an incredible outpouring of support from the community. This includes offers to volunteer and generous financial donations. Lanark County has provided additional funds and local businesses have stepped up, notably Barnabe’s Independent, Giant Tiger, Canadian Tire, Ferme Reveuse, the Hungry 7 and the Twisted Fork Cafe.

Clearly the community sees The Table as a vital part of our response to this crisis. We thank you for your confidence and trust. We will do all we can to keep ensuring there is access to healthy food for all and people have access to the supports they need.

This crisis will no doubt stretch the definition of who is in need in our community and we want everyone to know that they can access our services without judgement or shame. Please don’t go without food or support in accessing other needs you have. If we can’t help directly, we will reach out to our network of other agencies to find a solution.

It’s clear to me that in Lanark County we have the capacity to keep our physical distance while maintaining our social solidarity. Thank you for being part of the positive response to this most challenging of times.

In gratitude,

Ramsey Hart
Executive Director
