The Smiths Falls Downtown Business Association has announced it is supporting downtown restaurants within their boundaries by providing funds to cover the set-up fee up of $500 should they chose to the online food  ordering and delivery services of Valley Eats.

Valley Eats is an all-in-one restaurant guide, menu, take-out and food delivery service currently serving several municipalities close to Smiths Falls and is planning to provide the same services here in town.

“We are committed to supporting and assisting our local businesses during the economic recovery”. said Michele Baitley, Chair of the DBA. “Small main street businesses are the heart of our communities and the DBA is committed to ensuring that they thrive as the economy recovers from COVID-19.”

Any downtown Smiths Falls restaurants interested in the service are asked to please e-mail the DBA co-ordinator at dba@smithsfalls.ca in advance of signing up for the service.

It’s outrageous that a “service” that charges would have an additional “set up fee”. Highway robbery at its finest.
