Build a Mountain of Food Campaign makes stops in Elgin and Westport
The Build a Mountain of Food Campaign continued with stops in Elgin and Westport this weekend.
In Elgin 810 pounds of food were collected and $5,058.15 cents donated in support of the Elgin Food Bank.
In Westport 360 pounds of food were donated, and $16,106 donated. All proceeds go to the Westport Food Bank.
Food banks have been asking for cash donations this year to help during the pandemic.
They’ll be back at it this Saturday with stops in Portland at the LCBO and RBC from 9 to noon in support of the Portland Food Bank, and in Merrickville at the Merrickville Food Market from 1 to 4 in support of the Merrickville Lions Club Christmas Food Hamper Campaign.
