Jan. 11, 2021 9:00 am: Power outages affecting thousands estimated to be fixed by 11:00-11:30
Jan. 11, 2021 – 9:00 AM: Hydro One reports that repairs are underway to fix a pair of power outages that have been affecting our listening area since just after 3:30 this morning.
It’s believed equipment failure is the culprit.
The initial outage has been partially restored, but if you are still out, Hydro One reports that crews hope to have it back on by 10:45, though the estimate has been pushed back several time.
Thousands of customers woke up to flashing clocks and cooler temperatures as the power went out overnight. The initial outage stretched from parts of Mississippi Mills and Carleton Place, Perth, all the way out past Maberly to the west, and then north to an area just south of Calabogie and White Lake.
It is now smaller though and doesn’t quite reach Mississippi Lake to the east.
The second outage, which is only affecting 21 customers stretches from Mississippi Mills down to near Westport. They hope to have it back on at 11:30.
