Traffic stop leads to arrest
On Friday January 8, 2021, at approximately 11:19 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Chambers Street for a traffic violation. Investigation revealed that the 49 year old male driver was in breach of his release condition and he was subsequently placed under arrest.
The suspect was later released by way of an undertaking and will appear in court at a future court date to answer to this outstanding charge.
Male arrested for warrant leads to drug charges
On Friday January 8, 2021, at approximately 2:08 p.m., police located and arrested 32 year old, Frankie MASSEY-COOK, for an outstanding warrant for his arrest held by the Kingston Police Service. Investigation revealed that MASSEY-COOK was in possession of two controlled substances and stolen property.
MASSEY-COOK is charged with the following: Possession of a Schedule 1 substance x2 and one count of property obtained by crime under $5000.00. MASSEY-COOK was later released by way of an undertaking and will appear in court at a later date to answer to these charges.
Female suspect charged with multiple offences
On Friday January 8, 2021, at approximately 8:04 p.m., police located an intoxicated 19 year old female walking on Jasper Avenue. The female was subsequently placed under arrest for public intoxication. During the arrest the female suspect resisted arrest and uttered a threat to police.
As a result, the suspect is charged with the following: Resisting a peace officer, utter threats to cause bodily harm and two counts of breaching her probation release conditions. The suspect was later released by way of an undertaking and will appear in court at a later date to answer to these charges.
Female arrested for shoplifting incident
On Friday January 9, 2021, at approximately 4:21 a.m., police located and arrested a 33 year old female suspect, of Smiths Falls, for a shoplifting incident that occurred on December 29, 2020 at a Brockville Street business.
The suspect is charged with one count of theft under $5000.00, released by way of an undertaking and will appear in court at a future date to answer to this charge.
Traffic stop yields 3 day drivers licence suspension
On Friday January 9, 2021, at approximately 11:45 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Elmsley Street north, for a traffic violation. Investigation revealed, that the 19 year old male driver, from Perth, Ontario, was under the influence of a drug. Police conducted a Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) on the driver and additional testing was competed by a Drug Recognition Expert officer.
As a result, the driver was issued a 3 day suspension of his driver’s licence and several Provincial Offence Notices.
Male arrested for breaching his release condition
On Monday January 11, 2021, at approximately 7:50 a.m., police attended a residence on Empress Avenue for a report of an alleged breach of a Justice of the Peace Undertaking release condition. Investigation revealed that a 28 year old male suspect of Arnprior, Ontario, was in breach of his release condition. While effecting the arrest, the suspect attempted to flee and resisted police.
As a result, the suspect is charged with one count of breaching his Justice of the Peace Undertaking and one count of resisting a peace officer. The suspect was held for a bail hearing to answer to these outstanding charges.
Female arrested for breaching her release conditions
On Monday January 11, 2021 at approximately 8:24 p.m., police responded to a 9-1-1 call at a hotel on Center Street for a report of a female needing assistance. Investigation revealed that a 34 year old female was breaching her Justice of the Peace release order conditions, stemming from a previous domestic related incident.
The suspect was placed under arrest, held for a bail hearing and stands charged with two counts of breaching her release order conditions.
